Rare. I'm a vegetarian attorney who works in philanthropy and I love my job. Vegetarianism is my personal philosophy, definitely not a dating requirement. Coffee/drinks. Taking a walk. Doing something that we both like doing. Food dates are not my preferred first date - I like the date to involve some movement, some shared experience, not seeing someone chew or having someone watch my chew. Of course, a moving date could end up with both of us hungry and needing something to eat. That's okay. Some examples, if you like painting or drawing, we meet some place with our gear and paint, draw, talk about our lives, see each other in an environment where we both are comfortable. Architecture, art, design are also great. Another example, a horror film filmfest - the alien movies, jeepers creapers, 28 days later / 28 weeks later, blade, etc. I think people build better memories with each other by activity - dinner and drinks/movie is fun, but that's an awful lot of sitting. Let's take a walk, go to a museum, throw the football, frisbie, hit a bucket of balls at the driving range.

I don't know if this qualifies, but there are places that I still would like to visit in the U.S. and the world. I would love to see the Grand Canyon, the Northern Lights, Hawaii. I have skied before, but it has been 20 years, and I would like to try it again. Outside the U.S., would like to go to Barcelona, Costa Rica, Peru, Greece, India, Australia an East Asian trip - Thailand, Indonesia, Bangkok. The Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.

Would love to relocate to South Beach - I relax and can breath there. Mostly, DC is too tense and political. Kind of over it. Otherwise, my goal - a balance of fulfilling work and fulfilling personal life. I have the former, and the latter is where you may come into the picture.

Love South Beach. The people are relaxed and don't take themselves so seriously. Love sleeping in, working out, sitting on the beach and admiring the horizon, the colors of the sand and beach and sky, sitting by the pool and drinking iced tea, walking around on Lincoln Road, watching a movie, eating good food, people watching, shopping a little, having a drink or two. I try to head down there every couple of months or so.

Independence, strength, stability, honesty, and maturity, humor. Understanding that I work a lot, and travel occasionally for work, dating that leads to a relationship would be ideal. But we might have to start off slowly and head in that direction. I expect my date to also be a reasonably busy guy. Qualities that I am looking for? Humor. We have to be able to make each other laugh. That's a two-way street. The guy is also going to have to be fairly intelligent and a good talked. Sharing some of the interests that I have, so that we can do stuff that we both want to do. I like to learn, and my date should also be interested in learning ... I want to learn from you and with you. Languages, hobbies, travel, background, profession, education, etc. You don't have to be a brainiac, and I can be a complete goof and have a broad range of silly and entertaining interest. If you can make me laugh and smile and if you're good at home repair projects, all the better.
